Lianko's a 2... used to be 3, but since I barely have any will to update after getting home. I did plan on organizing things better and using more effective keywords... alas...

^ That's something I wasn't aware of. I thought older == more authoritative.
That's why I don't like using pagerank! Domains as they get older get more authoritative. xhan has an oldish blog, so she'd probably rank quite easily with certain keywords pretty quickly. However, as she hasn't been getting links as much as normal, her pagerank has dropped. I believe it was done so that pages on the internet that were ages old but had few links coming from it wouldn't be targetted by pagerank spammers for links. Of course, everythng is just heresay, nobody outside of Google knows for sure!

The latest thinking is that pagerank is based more on current links rather than past links. So if I get a link from the BBC 3 days ago, it's worth more than 3 years ago.
If your website is still live & not gaining links, it's believed to be less relevant. Of course, the age of your site does make you more authoritative, so even if you have a pagerank of 0, you can still have decent search engine rankings if your site is older.
All very confusing, I know!
This seems to be very true for my sites. On Twisted-Barfly I used to get hundreds of links for my free brushes. Nobody uses PSP8 now so I get zero. PR dropped with this update to a 3 from a 4. On our work site, we were a PR6 last year about 3 months after a couple of BBC news stories. They've run none since and we're a 4 now. I will go with that theory.
